چکیده
The Standing Wave (SW) TESLA niobium-based superconducting radio frequency structure is limited to an accelerating gradient of about 50 MV/m by the critical RF magnetic field. To break through this barrier, we explore option traveling wave (TW) structures. Optimization TW structures was done considering experimentally known limiting electric and fields. It shown that a can have above 70 MeV/m 1.5 times higher than contemporary standing with same other benefit R/Q 2 reduces dynamic heat load factor 2. A method proposed how make multipactor-free. Some design proposals are offered facilitate fabrication. Further increase real-estate (equivalent 80 active gradient) also possible increasing length because group velocity cell-to-cell coupling. Adjoint methods for electromagnetic shape optimization of the low-loss cavity for the International Linear Collider
We formulate the problem of designing the low-loss cavity for the International Linear Collider (ILC) as an electromagnetic shape optimization problem involving a Maxwell eigenvalue problem. The objective is to maximize the stored energy of a trapped mode in the end cell while maintaining a specified frequency corresponding to the accelerating mode. A continuous adjoint method is presented for ...
متن کامل200MHz superconducting RF cavity development for RLAs
Abstract. A 200MHz single-cell superconducting Nb-Cu cavity has been fabricated and tested at 4.2 K and at 2.5 K. The low field Q0 reached 1 5 1010 at 4.2 K. The accelerating gradient (Eacc) reached 11 MV/m at a Q0 of 6 108. Two multipacting barriers show up at Eacc = 3 and 1 MV/m. Helium processing is effective in reducing field emission and improving accelerating gradients. The Q-drop is obse...

As part of a STFC Industrial Programme Support Scheme (PIPSS) grant Daresbury Laboratory and Shakespeare Engineering Ltd have fabricated, processed and tested a single cell 1.3 GHz superconducting RF cavity, in collaboration with Jefferson Laboratory. The overall aim of the project through a knowledge exchange programme was to develop the capability of UK industry to fabricate and process a sin...
متن کاملDevelopment of Rf Reference Line for the Linear Collider
The distribution system of the rf reference line for the linear collider is required to supply stable xband(11.424GHz) rf reference signal over 25km length within 1(0.25ps) stability. In order to realize the distribution system, an optical fiber link using a phase stabilized optical fiber was tested. The phase stabilized optical fiber has been employed at LEP, KEKB, etc.. This paper describes t...
